Our elk hunts take place on roughly 5,700 acres of private land. Each year we acquire Private Landowner Tags for our properties. No one else hunts on these lands which give the bulls a chance to reach maturity and light hunting pressure on all elk in this area. Our area has earned a reputation of producing several record class animals each season.

Grey Ghost Outdoors offers two types of bull elk hunts: archery and rifle. Archery hunts fall in September each year. The rut begins in early September allowing the hunter to hear lots of bugling and see lots of elk during this time.

Archery Hunt

​

Our archery bull elk hunt is a physically demanding hunt. The fee for this hunt is for a five day hunt (plus license). This includes lunch's, full guide service, field preparation of meat, caping and tax.

Rifle Bull Hunt

​

The rifle bull hunt season runs from October through December. The best hunts usually occur in the first half of October as the rut is still on, however not as strong as September. Additionally, hunts in the fall around October and November will still furnish lots of bulls to be taken. The price for this hunt is for five days (plus license). This includes lunch's, full guide service, field preparation of the meat, caping and tax.

Both archery and rifle hunts will take place on rugged terrain at altitudes between 6,500 feet and 8,000 feet. These hunts may take place with 4x4 or side-by-side vehicles with spotting and stalking being the primary means of hunting.

Cow Elk Hunts

​

Cow elk hunts run from November through December. The price for this hunt is for three days (plus license). This includes lunch's, full guide service, field preparation of the meat, caping and tax.

The hunters are required to purchase his/her own license. Private-land elk licenses may be purchased at New Mexico Department of Game and Fish offices, license vendors, online www.wildlife.state.nm.us or by telephone. Most hunts will be 1 x 1. If a hunter would like to bring a hunting companion or a non-hunting companion then a 2 x 1 is not a problem with a extra charge each day.

There is an additional fee for any Elk trophy kill based on 360-380,  380-400, and 400-Up.

​

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to book a hunt.
